Dog-Fighting Undercover

I was approached by the BBC 18 months ago with the idea of trying to infiltrate a dog-fighting ring in the UK.

My views on animal welfare have always been strong and the thought of people fighting dogs makes me sick to the stomach. I wanted to expose these people. This was an investigation that needed doing.

Lufthansa Stops Shipping Pets To Labs

Wow, that was fast! Less than a day after PETA released heartbreaking photos and posted an action alert on their Web site drawing attention to the plight of more than 50 dogs who were transported on a Lufthansa cargo plane from the U.S. to a notorious Charles River Laboratories animal testing facility in Scotland, Lufthansa has announced a new policy prohibiting the transport of dogs and cats to laboratories.

Thousands of Americans were duped into thinking that dairy product consumption is associated with weight loss because of this slick advertising campaign, which has cost the dairy industry more than $200 million. But now, in response to a petition filed by PCRM with the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) in 2005, the U.S. Department of Agriculture and two national dairy organizations have agreed to halt this advertising campaign because existing research does not support the weight-loss claims.
