In PEACEABLE KINGDOM: THE JOURNEY HOME, five animal farmers, an animal rescuer and a humane police officer each face an overwhelming ethical conflict. For the farmers -- Harold, Howard, Willow Jeane, Cheri and Jim -- the forces of economics and tradition dictate that the animals on their farms be valued solely by the income they produce, their purpose being fulfilled when they are sent to market. Yet, the farmers' touching personal experiences with individual animals challenge what they’ve been taught since childhood, forcing them to acknowledge that these beings have greater mental and emotional depth than they were ever led to believe.
Meanwhile, Cayce, a newly trained humane police officer, and her husband Jason, an animal rescuer, encounter deplorable injustices at the farms and stockyards they visit. Yet, even when backed up by the full power of the law, they find there is painfully little they can do.
As the pull of conscience becomes impossible to ignore, each of these individuals are launched on a journey of truth, turmoil and transformation. Together, they struggle to overcome isolation and disempowerment, ultimately finding a new vision that gives their lives a much larger purpose.
